We are all coming off an all-time high with the Jags beating the Patriots last weekend, so what else can we do throughout the week as we wait for the next game? Plenty of stuff – that’s WHAT.

Wednesday, September 19

From 7-9 PM, Greek Street Kitchen and Bar is throwing a dessert party with both awesome baked goodies and booze. Who can resist? Get a ticket that includes 1 full size cocktail and FIVE different desserts. Yummy, yummy.

– We all know that Lola’s Trivia is a go-to activity. But for all my HP4L fans, Harry Potter Book Trivia is a MUST go-to this week! 7:30 PM at the usual place, Lola’s Burrito & Burger Joint, be there for a good time.

– Hyperion Brewery is having another Wine Pairing Dinner! A 4 course meal all with 4 different wines in each course…how can you say no?! They even have a beer pairing option available for the beer connoisseurs that prefer to ditch the wine.

– Anyone watch Orange is the New Black? Well, author of the book series, Piper Kerman, will be in Jacksonville to deliver the keynote address at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid’s 19th Annual Equal Justice Awards! Pretty cool stuff, so don’t be late! Starts at 5:30.

– Well-known from his days on Jackass, ultimate prankster Steve-O is coming to Jacksonville at the Comedy Zone! From 7:30-9, he will be making the crowd cry tears of laughter…and possibly cry of sadness when he has to leave us.

– Presenting the Music of John Williams, the amazing Jacksonville Symphony is giving you a classy treat for those sonata-loving music people! At the Times-Union Center for Performing Arts, bring your classiest friends and get a seat to the show.

Throwback Fest – Who is ready to partaaaaayyyy? Throwback Fest – an outdoor THROWBACK concert at Morocco Shrine – should do the trick with a lineup of Cameo, Klymaxx, Michel’le, and Ruff Endz! If you’re looking for a mix of hip hop, r&b, and funk, look no further.

– Saturday from 9PM- 2AM, 927 Events downtown is holding a big Thank You party for all the support! It’s free admission, but you need a ticket, so get it here. They will have a DJ, cash bar, and good food!

– Okay, we have all made digs at Blake Bortles before. But now that he is playing AMAZING, watch him and all the other Jags take on the Titans at 1 PM at the TIAA Bank Field. If there is anything Jacksonville is proud of, it’s our Jags. Need some game day party tips? Find them here.

– Just the naming of the band Twiddle band is amusing enough to go…1904 Music Hall is presenting Twiddle, a Vermont-based band that has played at Red Rocks and Bonnaroo. They have a history of multiple sell-out performances and the show starts at 7:30 PM so don’t be late!

Pole Dance Class – Before you laugh at this, think of the benefits pole dancing has for your abs! At Club Kink Jacksonville, you can learn and excel in pole dance basics and get a challenging, fun (although random) experience. The class is from 8-9, and I hear it is a boatload of fun, so don’t knock it till you try it.

Have a pond that needs sprucing up? Hit up the Pond Management Workshop. It’s only $5 and who doesn’t want to spruce up their pond? Maybe you just have a question about starting a pond! UF/IFAS Extension Duval County Agriculture wants to help. At 6 PM, topics include managing ponds for fishing, plants for shorelines, and hurricane prep.

King Kong 85th Anniversary Screening – King Kong was made THAT long ago?! For anyone that wants to celebrate this 1933 legacy, the Sun-Ray Cinema is doing a screening at 7 PM. This special screening also benefits Norman Studios Silent Film Museum. Come watch a gorilla destroy some shit and help out a museum. Win, win.
