September is upon us! That means that, while we may be freaking out about hurricane season starting, football season is starting and so are TAILGATES. And a ton of other fun stuff!

Saturday, September 1

Monster Jam Triple Threat Series – At the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, prepare for a show as you watch this adrenaline-charged family entertainment! You’ll watch Monster Jam trucks, speedsters, and ATVs crash into each other and race around from 1-3 PM. Nothing says hype like Monster Jam.

Sunday, September 2

Lynyrd Skynyrd Tour – While our king of rock is on his Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour, come celebrate during your long Labor Day Weekend at the TIAA Bank Field! Be a free bird (get the reference?) and go get that ticket!

Tuesday, September 4

Fall League Registration – All day, you can sign up to be a part of a Jax Fray league for the fall season! Get pumped to meet new people, play sports, and have those post-game bar parties. The question becomes is the goal to win your league or just to find the best excuse to drink during the week with your friends.

Karaoke Party – Looking for something to do on a Tuesday? At theLOFT downtown, a Karaoke Party is going down from 9-close. First 5 singers get a free shot of Fireball and, of course, the chance to sing your heart out.

Social at Lillian’s – Lillian’s Sports Bar & Grill knows how to throw a party since they do this every month!! Their September social includes happy hour specials, live music, food, and raffles. Head over at 6 PM if you’re in need of a good time!

Great American Read Open House – For those of you that love reading (many of your eyes probably just glazed over), the San Marco Bookstore has 100 books on the list for the search for America’s favorite novel. There will be featured speakers and mingling about everyone’s favorite books!

End of Summer Season Player Party – JAX Fray is kicking off the start of fall with a party at Shim Sham…Wooh! Party starts at 7 and the upstairs is reserved for all of you guys.  Expect a lot of $4 drink specials. Be there or be square.

Bruval – With Void’s Craft Beer Festival going on all day at the SeaWalk Pavilion, you can get a STEAL on beer and have FUN. Need I say more?! Well, I will. You get in for free and buy your beer OR you can even do a standard 3 hour sampling for only $35. Boom.

Sunday, September 9

Jaguars vs NY Giants – With this being an away game in New Jersey, head to Surfer the Bar in Jax Beach for the party! Watch the game live from 1-4 PM and sip on your favorite cocktails while you hoot & holler with your friends.

Monday, September 10

K.d. lang – From 8-11 PM, the Florida Theatre is celebrating Grammy Award-winning singer K.D. Lang! She will be performing her hit, “Constant Craving”, along with other hits from her storied career like “Miss Chatelaine”. Ticket prices are slowly rising, so get on it!

Wednesday, September 12

Deep Purple & Judas Priest – Daily’s is hosting the one, the only DEEP PURPLE (and Judas Priest if you like them too). So if you love Smoke on the Water or just like rock and heavy metal, get tickets now!

Thursday, September 13

Dierks Bentley – On his Mountain High Tour, Dierks Bentley is coming to Daily’s Place in Jacksonville at 7 PM! Tickets are on sale now for about $60 so if you like to drink and party hard, you’ll fit right in with the country crowd.

Green Room Run – As always, Green Room Brewery is holding their weekly run at 7 PM! It’s your choice between jogging a 3 mile or 5 mile loop. But it is NOT your choice to party afterwards and down a beer with the group (well, it is, but it should be a no-brainer).

Jax Bar-B-Que Fest – The second annual Jax Bar-B-Que Fest is going on from 11AM- 8PM. If you’re prepared to grill and chill, come out to the Jacksonville Landing for an amazing day of BBQ, yard games, and live entertainment! Plus first 50 guests get a free swag bag.

Pond Management Workshop – This seems funny to me, but also highly intriguing. If you have a pond (or want a pond), this is the workshop to attend! It’s only $5 and they teach you all about managing ponds for fishing, plants for pond shorelines, and hurricane prep & recovery.

Bridesmaids Trivia – It’s for free, so I said ‘sure’. Whether you got that Bridesmaids reference or not, that’s the attitude to have Wednesday at trivia! It’s free at Lola’s Burrito and Burger joint, so why not go?

Moonlight Movie – These Moonlight Movies at the Seawalk Pavilion are fun and cheap and a GREAT spot for a date. This particular movie is Hocus Pocus, prepared to put us in the mood for Halloween! Bring your beer, bring your date, and get ready to enjoy the show.

Saturday, September 29

The Landing Lights Up September – The Jacksonville Landing will light up this summer with fireworks and all of Jax’s best local bands! Starting at 6 PM, this event goes all night. You have the chance to buy some munchies, get some drinks, and dance the night away. Come one, come all.

Jags vs. Jets – With so much hype for the Jags, come out as they play the Jets at 1 PM. If you need a perfect game to day drink, this is the one! The TIAA Bank Field is where all the drama unfolds. Get your tickets now.

Whether you’re thinking “Wow, September is packed with fun stuff to do” or “damn, September looks really boring”, all I can say is I’ve told you all I know. So go to a tailgate or a moonlit movie, and I can confirm you’ll be thinking, “I love Jax.”
