Month Ahead: March

If you lucky ducks living in Jacksonville are eagerly waiting for fun activities to do this March, the time has come. Not only is this month extra lucky because of St. Patrick’s Day, but there are also plenty of festivals, musicals, and goat yoga experiences! Get in on all the action.

 

Tuesday, March 3rd

Office Trivia at Brewhound – Have you seen that episode where Michael Scott goes to the dog park? Yea, me neither. BUT, it could be you this Tuesday at the dog park, simply indulging in your The Office knowledge. There are bar tab prizes and an extra special prize for the big winner. Wednesday, March 4th

Homemade Pizza Making – Are you ready to throw some dough in the air and catch it, perfectly, like a true pizza chef? Thursday, March 5th

Jeff Dunham – America’s favorite ventriloquist Jeff Dunham, is ready to put on his show “Seriously”, at the Vystar Veterans Arena in Jax. If you don’t think you are the type to watch puppets crack jokes, you may be surprised once you see the show. (Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena // 7 pm // $48)

 

Saturday, March 7th

Beer Garden Party – Wicked Barley is having their annual Beer Garden Party with special beer releases ALL DAY and live music, all to celebrate a great Jacksonville community and warmer weather. If you are ready to day drink and enjoy a good time with other Jacksonvillians, come on out. (Wicked Barley // 11am – 11pm // FREE)

 

Goat Yoga – I’ve asked it before and I’ll ask it again…Who doesn’t love cute baby goats jumping around while you stretch out those limbs? Bring your yoga mat to the farm and prepare to delight in the company of some animal pals. #JaxFrayTip: You get a discount if you carpool with a friend, so I recommend doing that. Sunday, March 8th

Holi Hai 2020 – Color blasts, water balloons, fun games, food trucks, and MORE. That’s what the Festival of Colors is all about. Holi Hai is a Hindu spring festival with specific colors and events. Wednesday, March 11th

Jersey Boys Touring – If you’re a huge Jersey Boys fan who loves the commemorative musical, this joyous show is coming to Jacksonville. A Broadway musical all about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, fans just can’t get enough. Get a ticket while you can. (Times-Union Center // 7:30 pm // $51+)

 

Friday, March 13th

Plant Based Junk Food – I know a lot of folks are all about the healthy vegan fad, but what about comfort food? Vuture Food is here to serve vegan junk food that will trick your tastebuds into thinking it’s meat, like the Vegan Crispy Chik’n Sandwich and loaded fries. Saturday, March 14th

St. Patrick’s Day Party – I know that St. Patrick’s Day is actually next Tuesday, but why not celebrate early? Orange Park Farmers’ & Arts Market – It may be a little bit of a drive, but Orange Park Farmers’ & Arts Market is surely a treat, only available on the first and third Sunday of the month. Tuesday, March 17th

St. Patrick’s Day Bash – Culhane’s Irish Pub is getting quite festive for St. Patty’s Day with costume prizes, a green beer competition, and many more games and photos. Friday, March 20th

Wine Fest – Everyone loves a good wine tasting, but how about when it’s a full-blown wine festival? Black Sheep is prepared to give you just that. Sunday, March 22nd

Jacksonville’s Brunch & Bloody Mary Festival – It is safe to feel good about this Sunday Funday because most of the proceeds are supporting multiple charities. It’s free admission; you only pay for the goodies. There are a TON of fun things that include crafting your own Bloody Mary at a 15 foot Bloody Mary Station and stuffing your face in a pancake eating contest. Tuesday, March 24th

Sunshine Showdown – It’s that time of the year again when everybody strongly picks a side, Florida or Florida State. At the Sunshine Showdown, the Florida Gators play the Florida State Seminoles at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville at 7pm. This is a good old-fashioned rivarry, so don’t miss out. Thursday, March 26th -29th

Hamilton – As a part of the FSCJ Artist series, Hamilton will be performed at the Times-Union Center. If you aren’t pumped, drink that coffee and start reading up on the story of America’s Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton! Tickets only get more expensive, so act fast. Friday, March 27th -29th

Rhythm and Ribs Festival – I would personally say the drive to St. Augustine is worth it for some tasty ribs and bumpin’ tunes. The 25th annual Rhythm & Ribs Festival is going down, with 3 days of live music and plenty of BBQ, Budweiser, Bacardi, and country music. 25 years is a long time, people, so you know it must be good. (Francis Field Festivals // 5 pm // FREE)

 

Saturday, March 28th

Yoga in the Beer Garden – Not only do you get to enjoy some relaxing yoga with your ticket purchase, but you also get a beer on the house! Kate Vallas is teaching a one-hour yoga class, hosted by Wicked Barley, for all levels. Bring your yoga mat and a pal. (Wicked Barley // 9:30 am // $15)

 

Sunday, March 29th

Ladies Night at iFLY – If you are a regular indoor “flyer” and female, consider coming out for Ladies Night at iFLY. It’s a $70 night, but you get a lot of stuff! Free one-on-one and group coaching, plans for you based on your skills, pre-flying mini yoga, and post-flying healthy eats! Tuesday, March 31st

Dart Night – Every Tuesday at American Legion Post 137, you can stick it to ’em with your dart skills! Bring your whole dart squad at 7 pm and “diddle for the middle!” Loser buys drinks…just kidding. (American Legion Post 137 // 7 pm // FREE)

 

Gabe Stillman Band – Like a smooth running machine, the Gabe Stillman Band never misses a beat. With music deeply rooted in the blues, the band originally draws from American roots.
