So it’s that time again –  the sun is out to play, you have more time on your hands and you are looking for love.

Okay, so honestly, Jacksonville is pretty much like that 10 out of 12 months of the year. But,  you need some good warm-weather date ideas!

Not to fret. Jacksonville has plenty of spots (and plenty of single people) for you to find a date and treat him or her well.

Here are 6 #FrayLife approved picks:

Dog Wood Park

If you’re going on a date with a pet lover, Dog Wood Park might be the place to charm him or her. This off-leash park is a private country club that offers recreational opportunities for both you and your dog! There are dog-swimming ponds, huge fields for frisbees and running, jogging trails, and play equipment like tunnels. So if you or your date wants to bring a dog and stare at all the other cute ones, this is a great spot. Maybe even your dogs will fall in love, too.

Little Talbot Island

The beach is an obvious place for a date, but Little Talbot is our personal recommendation for a beachy place. Little Talbot is a great place to explore, with trees right along the sand where people set up hammocks and “hang out.” Picture sharing a hammock right along the ocean with your date in your arms… 

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

What’s better than walking through a zoo on a warm day and staring at all the cute animals? Very few things… Jacksonville Zoo is a great warm-weather date idea, with a typical adult ticket costing $19.95. They even give you a useful map that distinctively lays out all of the animal exhibits, making it easy to navigate and learn about all the critters. You’ll obviously charm your date when he or she sees that you’re an animal lover, so this is a no-brainer summer option!

#FrayLife Tip: The Jacksonville Zoo’s goal is to have a one-of-a-kind garden exhibit, so they built their botanical gardens within the animal exhibits… super romantic scenery for a date.

TopGolf

While TopGolf is actually pretty accommodating during any time of the year with both AC and heat, it’s obviously better in the summer when you feel like being outside. Whether you rent a bay with a small group or just you and your date, TopGolf keeps it fun the whole time with a built-in game system that records the distance of your ball and where it lands after you swing. Also, they give you plenty of food and drinks options, include beer buckets, so don’t hesitate to impress your date with some awesome golf skills and with a great fun activity!

#FrayLife Tip: If you go to TopGolf on a weekend, expect a 1-2 hour wait before you can get a bay. Personally, we’d use that time to get a little buzzed before teeing off.

Hanna Park Camping

Ready to take it to the next level? One of the best ways to get up-close and personal with your date is by camping! At Hanna Park, there are 300 camping sites and it costs just $20 for a tent or $34 for a cabin. If you’re an outdoorsy person and want to spend the day kayaking, Hanna Park is the place to go! After spending the day on the water, get warm and cozy by setting up a campfire and snuggling your date in your arms.

#FrayLife Tip: Campers can actually stay up to 30 nights in a row, which is actually pretty lengthy.

Alligator Farms

Technically located in St. Augustine, Alligator Farms is only a quick 30 minutes outside of Jacksonville. Alligator Farms has daily wildlife shows, the opportunity to zip line across the park, and of course PLENTY of alligators. This is the only place in the world where you can see every living species of crocodilian, but they also have birds and other little mammals, too. Take your date to see some gators and hold her close if she gets scared.
