16 Events That Need to Be on Your Jax Bucket List This Fall
So we are all a bit scared, as we head into the fall, because we are officially in hurricane season. BUT, aside from that part, we are all ready for (a little) cooler weather, football season, and new events! So if you’re amped up about the fall, want to pick some pumpkins, and ready to wear flannel, then read on!
September 16
Amazing Grace Crop Maze – With Amazing Grace preparing for the fall, they’re holding a huge flash sale on September 16th. With their Fall Festival starting on October 4th, you also have all your chances to journey through a crop maze, pick a perfect pumpkin, and enjoy farm attractions! October 5
Design + Music Festival – CoRK Arts District is throwing down with their biggest event of the year, the Design + Music Festival! Showcasing the power of design and the music industry, join the whole group of people partaying and dancing. Plus, there will be free popsicles…can’t miss out on that. (2689 Rosselle St // 5-10 pm // $12)
The Whistling Death 5K – Nicknamed “Whistling Death” by the Japanese, this race celebrates the F4U Corsair of WWII, the Marine Corps main fighter in the Pacific. Many of the pilots were trained in Green Cove Springs, so this is a perfect chance to run in honor of our military! (Military Museum of North Florida // 8 am // $25-30)

City of Atlantic Beach Fall Festival – Food, giveaways, and fall activities… Come on out to Donner Park Community Center in Atlantic Beach for a good time! Plus, there are train rides, so it’s the perfect opportunity to cruise around while you sip on a brewski. (Donner Park Community Center // 11am – 3pm // Free)

Festival of Flight – The largest annual fundraiser is back again! This year, their goal is to raise $60,000 through the generosity of sponsors and supporters across the Northeast Florida community! The 9th Annual Festival of Flight will be at Intuition Ale Works, equipped with live music, delicious food, adult beverages, and raffling! (Intuition Ale Works // 10am – 2pm // Donations)
October 19
Seafood Soul Festival – Live entertainment, freshly cooked seafood, and plenty of clothing & art! Bring the whole fam out for the Seafood Soul Festival! PLUS, aside from having a ton of fun, you can feel good about the fact that this event benefits the Edith Marie Foundation, which empowers the lives of those battling Breast Cancer. (Morocco Shrine Center // 12-5 pm // $0-90)
The Stuntsonville Classic Tour – This FREE festival features rap battles, vendors, food trucks, and oh so much more, with an ultimate goal to bring people together. Car owners also can compete for the best paint job, best sound, and overall appearance. PLUS, proceeds will go to Stay Forever Royal, a nonprofit that makes wigs for cancer patients. (Regency Square Mall // 10am – 6 pm // Free)
October 25 – 27
Onslow Oktoberfest – A 3-day event with wines and, quite frankly, the weirdest specialty products…puffed corn snacks, pop-corn, sweet biscuits, wafers, waffles, soups, and soup additives (haha). I know it may sound a bit unusual but the Onslow Oktoberfest is crazy fun with a lot of good eats! Make your way out there. (Venue TBD // 9am – 6pm // $TBD)
October 26
Penney Farms 5K – Race along tree-lined streets of the J.C. Penney Memorial Scenic Highway loop with your fellow runners at the 6th Annual Penney Farms Historic 5K Run! As has been the case for many years, this picturesque run has had beautiful weather and great prizes! I know Florida and Georgia are playing this weekend, so why don’t you run before the game (and before the booze)? (Penney Farms // 8:30 am // $20-30)
October 27
Evergreen Pumpkin Run – Get your Halloween costume, and get ready to RUN. A $50 1st Place Sports gift card will be given to the runners wearing the best costumes! After you run (and hopefully, fast!), you get to take a pumpkin home with you. So go burn those calories and go get yourself a pumpkin. (Evergreen Cemetary // 8 am // $25-35)

Jacksonville Porchfest – Quaint, historic Springfield…up on the rise! Come on out to their Porchfest, Northeast Florida’s best community music festival. Enjoy the music, food & drink, arts and local vendors, as well as good company! (Springfield Historic District // 12-9 pm // Free)
Bailey’s Health & Fitness Mandarin Run – With finisher medals and T-shirts for all participants, I hope everyone is feeling the calling to RUN. Plus, if you register and then refer a friend with your code, you get $5 back (so I highly recommend referring friends). Let’s go get fit, people. (Bailey’s Gym Mandarin // 8 am //$25-40)

2019 Jacksonville Film Fest – This year, the festival theme is ‘First Hollywood’! Jacksonville was once known as the “Winter Film Capital of the World” and was home to 30 film studios, so it’s no mystery that Jax has played an important role in film history! This festival celebrates all that and encourages a new generation of filmmakers to utilize the city as their canvas. (San Marco Theatre // 6 pm // Free)
November 23
McKenzie’s Run – McKenzie Noelle Wilson had a heart for serving others, and unfortunately passed away at only age 15. Come run in her honor! With the option to run a 1-mile fun run or a 5K, come on out to the TIAA Bank Field for a good time. There are awards if you’re extra speedy. (TIAA Bank Field // 9:30, 10 am // $10-35)
November 29 – December 2
Christmas Made in the South – This is a borderline winter event, but no reason not to include it because it’s awesome. Each year, the Prime Osborn Convention Center is transformed to showcase artwork from some of the best artists in the nation…just in time for the holiday shopping season. Come check out Christmas Made in the South! (Prime Osborn Convention Center // 9 am // Merchandise $)
November 30
Jacksonville Light Boat Parade – A holiday tradition for more than 30 years, the Jacksonville Light Boat Parade is ready to “light up” Jax once again! Come peep these boats as they float along the north and south banks of the St. John River, adorned with lights and decor! The evening ends with one of the best fireworks shows on the First Coast! (Downtown Jacksonville // 7-8 pm // Free)
