Maybe you’re just getting back to Jax from a summer vacation… or maybe you’re just itching to go on one. Well, Jacksonville actually has a ton of its own fun events to fool you into thinking you’re on vacation!…or at least a fun trip…or at least just distract you from wanting a vacation so badly.

Wednesday, July 18

– Did you know that Jacksonville has a Bar Association? They do! They will be hosting the All Bar Celebration as a way to get some open dialog within the community and boost friendships, with booze of course, at the Hyatt in Riverside at 5:30. If you are in need of community chatter…or alcohol, head on over.

– Casa Marina is here to please all the beach locals with A Chair Affair at 6 PM! For $40, you get food samplings from Taco Lu, Carrabba’s, Salt Life, and many more! But wait – that’s not all. There is live music, a silent auction, and a wine tasting. All the proceeds benefit the Jacksonville Beach Life Saving Corps. I hear it is a great time!

Thursday, July 19

– We all like yoga but you know what makes it even more awesome? When you glow while doing it! At 7 PM at Oceanfront Park in Jax Beach, JaxFray (that’s us, guys!) is holding a Glow Yoga event for 2 hours. For $20, you get some community yoga with free glow supplies. I say give it a whirl and bring a GoPro while you’re at it.

– Who loves some good ‘ole country? At Daily’s Place at 7:30 PM, Rascal Flatts are coming back to Jax (“back to us tour”, get the pun?) to knock off our socks. With tickets as low as $25, snag a seat and live it up since, ya know, life is a highway.

– Now, we know everyone loves cupcakes, and everyone loves beer. So why not pair them? For $25, you can (and if that sounds like too much, you get a lot for it)! Four tasty cupcakes have been designed by Hottie Dawgs and are expertly paired with Hyperion’s craft brews. From 6-9 PM, make your sweet tooth happy.

Friday, July 20

– Since the 1st one was such a hit, come out from 4-8 PM for the SECOND annual Rock the Block Gummy Fest! For only $5, you wander through 7 unique candy lands and sample more than 20 gummies. They even have a VIP option that gets you into a private room with a special gummy cocktail. Sweet Pete’s will be hosting and it will be SWEET.

Saturday, July 21

– To experience a bit of Jax Around the World, attend the 3rd annual Jaxcot at Morocco Shine that goes on all day! There will be 30+ food vendors for some cuban, thai, jamaican food…and the list goes on and on. There is also a bar, but the best part is FREE admission and FREE parking! So let’s get cultural.

– From 6 PM to midnight, the Jacksonville Carnival is bringing you an All-inclusive Event (that means food and drinks AND entertainment)! At 927 Events in Downtown Jax, you get unlimited food, unlimited top-shelf drinks, entertainment from top DJs, and a great atmosphere for $45! If you got some free time, this is the place to be.

Sunday, July 22

– So we always have these summer movie classics going on at the Florida Theatre, but I personally love The Nightmare Before Christmas. At 2 PM, for $7.50, take a break from the hot sun and come to watch Sally and Jack hit it off in their Halloweentown.

– At 7 PM, head over to Daily’s Place if you’re looking to put a bit of rhythm in your step. For anyone that loves rock music, Chicago will be pairing with REO Speedwagon for can’t-miss music! Tickets are at $49 so hurry up and get yours!

Monday, July 23

– We all love a good ladies night, especially the men because they creep on all the ladies. But we also all love Moxie’s! They are holding a free networking night for all the women to chat and mingle. Plus, they have the best appetizers and cocktails ever. Come on single ladies, put your hands up (Beyonce, anyone?).

– Another game?! Who else just said ‘HELL YEAH’? The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp will be playing the Montgomery Biscuits at 7:05 PM at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. This game will be a blast AND support Mission House! Tickets are only $9, with $4 from each ticket going to Mission House. Woot woot!

Tuesday, July 24

– At 7 PM at Blackfinn in the Town Center, there will be an AWESOME plant night that features creating an Under the Sea Sloped Bowl! This wood terrarium will look great wherever you choose to decorate AND you can get drinks while you make it! Tickets are 40% off with code “PlantNiteJax” so take advantage of this steal.

– DJ Dr Doom will be presenting this event to give local artists a chance to showcase their DJ skills at Cuba Libre Ultra Lounge in Atlantic Beach. So from 7 to midnight, come to watch everyone spin some tracks and impress their friends for only $15. Or if you have mad DJ skills, sign up and show everyone up!
