Wednesday (6/20) – Green Room Run & Discounted Beer

Looking for a spot to get a good run in but don’t know the area well enough to form a fun route? Green Room will do it all for you AND get you a nice buzz after you burn those calories. Every Wednesday at 7 PM, the Jax Beach Runners head out from the Green Room parking lot for a 3-mile jog or a 5-mile run, if you feel ballsy. Once you finish your jogging, beer is discounted at 20% off, so you can stay fit and stay social.

#FrayLife Tip: Some people run really fast and some people are slightly above a walking pace, so all running paces are welcome. Same goes for all drinking paces!

Thursday (6/21) – Downtown Wine Down Rooftop Party

Cowford Chophouse, Jax’s newest rooftop bar, is hosting a happy hour and cocktail mixer on Thursday at 5:30. Cowford Chophouse is going all in with live music and a $100 gift card giveaway! They start with a band for 3 hours and turn it over to a DJ for the late-night-let’s-get-drunk time of the night. If you’re searching for a good time, you know where to go.

Friday (6/22) – Luke Bryan at Veterans Memorial Arena

Luke Bryan is bringing his ‘What Makes You Country Tour 2018’ to Veterans Memorial Arena on Friday at 7 pm. Tickets are only around $50; not too shabby for one of the biggest acts in the country. There is rarely free parking near the Veterans Memorial Arena but there are 6,604 parking spaces on-site so you won’t have to worry about getting there early to find a spot (to tailgate).

Saturday (6/23) – Summer Volksfest

Going on for 4 years, this VW Car Show is held at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds and has a full house every time! Volksfest is one only two indoor events of its kind on the East Coast and features an array of cool cars to both inside and outside (and you can even purchase a T-shirt if you’re super serious about cool cars). Going on from 10-4, this is supposedly the LARGEST grouping of both cars and people this year, and it only costs $10 to get in!

Sunday (6/24) – Yoga at Surfer the Bar

Every Sunday at 10 am at Surfer the Bar, Big Fish Yoga holds a free, 1-hour yoga class for all those trying to stay flexible! They rotate through instructors so you always get a variation of the ones that move fast, play good music, are funny, and just suck (just kidding). With a great atmosphere and packed room, this yoga class is a quick way to get in some exercise and start off with a relaxing morning. Afterward, you can get some early morning cocktails at Surfer while they offer a couple free brunch foods!

#FrayLife Tip: This class gets PACKED. Take their advice and sign up in advance to lock in your spot.

Monday (6/25) – Hot Potato Comedy Hour at Rain Dogs

Jacksonville’s longest-running open mic comedy takes place at Rain Dogs on Mondays at 9 pm. Featuring some of the best nationally-touring comedians who stroll Jax, this laugh-your-socks-off event in Riverside is incredibly affordable and incredibly hilarious. You can also purchase food and drinks when you’re there (they even have an “Herbivore” menu for Vegetarians). If you’re need of a last-minute pick-me-up or have some type of breakup drama going on, why not put it all to the side and let Hot Potato Comedy Hour give you some giggles!

#FrayLife Tip: Rain Dogs is also known for bottomless mimosas for only $10 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Tuesday (6/26) – Painting with a Twist Class 

As a public painting class from 5-7 PM at Aardwolf, Painting with a Twist lets you create something special (or just weird-looking if you never paint) while you sip on some adult beverages. For roughly $35, you get the chance to paint, socialize, and drink. Aardwolf is one of Jacksonville’s newest and most welcoming breweries that opened up in Riverside and truly a crowd favorite. So come one, come all – let’s paint and get drunk.

#FrayLife Tip: They have a beer called Wreck it Rauch, which is a popular favorite and such a clever name that everyone is required to love it.
